How to clean your makeup brushes – GUIDE

Hi guys.

I’m back with another essential but no-one-ever-tells-you kinda post.

Now that you have your brushes, you might want to consider cleaning them, unless you want to cultivate a family of bacteria (uhm, not pretty at all.)

So, here I’m with a basic guide on HOW TO CLEAN YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES!

All you need:

1. A plate/bowl

2. A cleaning sponge mop

3. Face wash – Not something too gentle or with any kinda *moisturising* properties. You don’t want your brushes to be greasy, do you?

4. Water

5. Dirty brushes (DUH!)

Now, lets get started.

STEP 1:

Pour some water on the sponge. Obviously, place the sponge on the plate/bowl first!

You can also add a drop or two of an antiseptic (dettol liquid, for example)

STEP 2:

Squeeze out a little bit of the face wash on the mop.

STEP 3:

Now just swirl the brushes on the mop. You’ll literally see the filth being left over on the mop.

Voila!

STEP 4:

Rise the brushes under tap water. Make sure you hold them with the brush facing downwards, this’ll make sure the water does not mess with the glue of your brush. Squeeze out excess water.

STEP 5:

Wrap the brushes in toilet paper to avoid bacterial attack while they dry. Leave the brush-mummy to air dry.
